Final Fantasy XVI The Rising Tide Release Date
At PAX East 2024, Square Enix announced the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI DLC named The Rising Tide. Clive and his allies go to the hidden Mysidia and learn about the inhabitants after they receive a letter telling them Eikon of Water needs rescuing. Final Fantasy XVI The Rising Tide Release Date
The DLC will be released on April 18, 2024, on PS5. Players can get The Rising Tide by itself upon release. Those who haven't played the first FFXVI DLC can purchase The Rising Tide with Echoes of the Fallen for $24.99 as part of the Expansion Pass.
The events in The Rising Tide occur before the main game ends. The second expansion also boasts new abilities, locations, sidequests, and special bonuses. According to the Final Fantasy portal site, The Rising Tide will also be the last DLC for FFXVI.
Players should also know that they will have to unlock the new quest after unlocking the Origin destination on the world map and completing the main quest, "Priceless."
Final Fantasy XVI Free Update
Version 1.30 will arrive on the same day as The Rising Tide! This downloadable update will add quality-of-life improvements, like:
- Return to a quest giver immediately with the new “Quick Complete” function
- Icon updates for important character quests
- A new Skill Set feature, which allows players to save up to five unique Feat and Ability sets
- Abilities and Accessories adjusted for easier use
- New “Custom” controller type allows for freely customizable button layouts
- Tone correction, screen effects, and more added to Photo Mode
- Numerous new orchestrion rolls added
