The Fortnite Fishing Leaderboard allows players to see who is currently toward the top and has the best chance at taking home the prize.

Just this past Thursday, Triggerfish and Fornithe announced the Fornite Fishing Frenzy. All around the Fornite map are little pocket spots to be used to cast a line and get your angler on. From Friday, Nov. 22 at 8 a.m. ET (meaning it's already started and you're late!) until this coming Sunday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. ET, players are challenged to strike out at these fishing locations and seek the biggest bite.

Fornite Fishing: How To Start

The first step to getting your fish on in Fortnite is, well... to find a fishing rod. They occasionally drop as regular ole' floor spawns or even in chests, though both of these are uncommon.

A much more simplistic option would be to head to any of those three areas poorly-highlighted on the map below. At any of those spots you can find a crate full of fishing rods for you and your squad, but I'd advise getting to them quickly because I'm sure some other players won't hesitate to fight you over them.

By default, players can fish up a few different things at fishing spots. Material comes up pretty commonly, and if you're lucky you might get your hands on a decently rare weapon. Most importantly, however, are the many different fish you can drag up from the depths; Small Fry, Floppers (which can provide a quick heal in a pinch), Slurpfish (with the very powerful ability to restore 50 Health AND shield when consumed), and the elusive Mythic Goldfish which awards a Bottom Feeder Pickaxe to anyone who catches it.

So you've got your rod, found a good fishing spot, and spent the past 3 games straight casting that line until the game ended or someone put a bullet through your head; now you wanna know where you stand on the leaderboards. Well, that's as simple as clicking this link and hoping you were good enough to make it. There's a few different competitions to try and win as well; Top Angler goes to whoever catches the most fish in a single match, a Champion category for each of the three common fish types, and the Mythic Goldfish prize which is instantly awarded to anyone who catches that fish (though no one has yet to claim that prize).

That's about all there is to the Fishing Frenzy, so get on out there, grab a line and get to fishing, Fortnighters. Special Shoutout to players VinierFive06 and HotКoko, who at the time of writing this article are tied for Top Angler with 100 catches a piece. Think you've got what it takes to dethrone them?
