Epic Games has deployed a quick hotfix for Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1, aiming to address some of the balance issues with certain weapons.
A minor update has been revealed for Fortnite, addressing some of the balance issues for the Stinger SMG, MK-Seven Assualt Rifle, and Auto Shotgun. Since the season began, many players had expressed their concerns over some of the weapons, saying that the Stinger SMG and the MK-Seven Assualt Rifle, in particular, were a bit too overpowered. Now, with this recent hotfix, it seems that Epic Games has brought them more in line with the rest of the available arsenal.
As for the Auto Shotgun, fans had noticed that it took a surprisingly long time to reload for something that prides itself on a fast firing rate. At 8.8 seconds for a full reload, it left a lot of downtime for any players caught out in the open. Luckily, the reload speed has now been reduced, taking it down to 6.2 seconds for a full reload.
Below, we've detailed the full list of buffs and nerfs that have been implemented in this latest hotfix.
Fortnite Jan. 13 Hotfix: Weapon Buffs and Nerfs Detailed
On Thursday, Jan. 13, the following changes were made:
- Decreased Stinger SMG damage
- Slightly decreased MK-Seven Assault Rifle damage
- Decreased Auto Shotgun reload time
- Decreased from 18/19/20/21/22 to 16/17/18/19/20.
- Decreaed from 21/22/23/24/25 to 20/21/22/23/24.
- Decreased from 8.8s/8.4s/8s/7.6s/7.2s to 6.2s/6s/5.7s/5.4s/5.1s.
While the list is only small, the changes certainly have the potential to even the playing field slightly. Reception to the changes has been mixed so far, with some players claiming that the buff to the Auto Shotgun could see them make a return to the meta.
Give it a try the next time you log into Fortnite and see for yourself. Perhaps the Auto Shotgun just became your new best friend, or worst enemy.
