A Fortnite Player's Association was formed by a group of 16 professional Fortnite players. It's called the Fortnite Professional Players' Association (FNPPA) and was revealed on Friday.

The FNPPA's founding members include eight Fortnite players each from North America and Europe. These representatives, including Benjy "benjyfishy" David Fish and Fortnite World Cup winner Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf among others, will serve as the organization's board and lead the group as it expands membership to others in the community.

Following in the footsteps of players' associations in traditional sports as well as esports such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the FNPPA will attempt to leverage collective action in discussions with developer Epic Games.

The FNPPA describes itself as "an independent world-wide collective of professional Fortnite players, meant to provide us a professional platform to voice our opinions on the future of the competitive scene of Fortnite, so that we may have the most productive dialogue possible with the developers."

Whether or not the FNPPA will provide services other players' associations do — such as support in salary negotiation, legal representation, and so on — remains to be seen.

Epic Games has yet to acknowledge the FNPPA.
