Fortnite Season 9 Teaser Released by Epic Games Hints at May 9 Start Date

Fortnite Season 9 teaser was released Monday morning by Epic Games coming off a week of game changing content.

The teaser, captioned "The Future is Unknown," is followed up by a 5.9.2019 date. The obvious conclusion to draw is that Fortnite Season 9 begins Thursday.

Fortnite Season 8 recently entered its 10th week of challenges. That's traditionally the last week of challenges for a season before it starts to be phased out.

Epic Games also held a major in-game event on Saturday in which Tilted Towers, Retail Row, Polar Peak and more were destroyed by Season 8's volcano. Also, the Drum Gun was unvaulted after the vault under Loot Lake was opened. Players voted on the Drum Gun out of multiple vaulted weapons.

Fortnite Season 9's theme appears to be a futuristic jump, but just how far will it go? Will Tilted Towers be rebuilt into a high tech utopia? How will the Drum Gun's return affect the game moving forward?

Expect more teasers from Epic Games throughout the week based on the company's past strategy for hyping up new seasons.
