The easiest ways to troubleshoot log-in problems is to log out of PlayStation Network and log back in. Ensure you internet connection is stable and working. For best results, always use a wired ethernet connection.

If you can get into PSN and not into Fortnite, you're likely encountering a server issue. Typically, there will be some server problems right when a new season drops or when a major update happens. Server maintenance happens between Wednesday and Thursday at night.

Chapter 2 Season 5 caused log-in problems across the board. The day the update released, server problems occurred on both PC and Nintendo Switch. When the servers are down, there's not much to be done but wait until Epic Games fixes it. Since these issues affect PlayStation Network, it doesn't matter if you're on PS4 or PS5.

You can keep track of known Fortnite issues with their official Trello board or by following the official Fortnite status Twitter. At the time of writing, there are a few PlayStation-specific issues going on during the first week of Season 5. Most notably, players on both PlayStation and Xbox are having trouble loading into games after a match.
