Fortnite Week 1 challenges are set to start Fortnite Season 9 when it kicks off on May 9.

Epic Games teased the next Fortnite season Monday with the caption, "The Future is Unknown." This follows a Saturday event that resulted in numerous areas on the map being destroyed by the volcano including Tilted Towers and Retail Row. The Drum Gun was also unvaulted after Loot Lake opened up and people voted to have it added back to the game.

As of writing, Fortnite Season 9 Week 1 challenges have not yet been announced or leaked. Still, it's expected the first week of challenges will start when Season 9 kicks off Thursday. New weeks of challenges start on Thursdays during seasons anyway, so why not have them start when the season debuts?

Fans can expect even more teasers regarding the next season in the days leading up to Thursday.
