Game Devs of Color Expo Returns as a Nonprofit in September

Game Devs of Color Expo has announced it will return for another online event in 2022, scheduled to take place Sept. 15-18. The organization is also newly registered as a nonprofit.
GDoCExpo began in 2016 as a physical event hosted at the Schomburg Center in Harlem, New York. The COVID-19 pandemic forced it online in 2019, where it has flourished.
GDoCExpo 2022 will be the seventh iteration of the yearly even, and the third to take place entirely online. As with previous years, the event will be packed with presentations and networking opportunities for developers of color and allies. Its new 501(c)(3) nonprofit status will allow it to continue raising funds to sustain its mission of uplifting marginalized creators in games.
"Our organizers have delivered a high-quality experience from day one, modeling excellence for the games industry year after year," said GDoCExpo co-founder Catt Small in a statement. "2022 will be even more phenomenal. We are excited to bring our international audience an exciting half-week of creativity, connections, and conversations."
