Updates often come with new events, new quests, new Domains or Artifacts, new weapons, as well as new characters, making them a treasure trove of new content for Genshin Impact players. As Version 2.7 enters the latter half of its run, here's all the details we know on Version 2.8's release date.
Genshin Impact Version 2.8 Release Date
Genshin Impact Version 2.8 is expected to see release July 13, 2022. Most Genshin Impact updates last six weeks, and Version 2.8 will be coming once Version 2.7 reaches the end of its run on July 12. The Version 2.8 livestream, which will contain all the details on the new update, will be airing live on July 1 at 9 p.m. ET, so players should be sure to tune in if they want all the details surrounding the new update.
Beta testing for 2.8 began May 18, meaning players already have a few ideas of what's to come in the new update. This includes things like a 5-Star skin for the character Diluc as well as additional lore, a new event featuring Fischl (with a new 4-Star skin for her), new puzzle-themed mini-games, and more. While none of this is confirmed, players are confident that the release of the new 4-Star character Heizou is coming, and he has already been announced on Genshin Impact's official Twitter account.
Heizou is an upcoming Anemo character, who works for the Tenryou Commission as a detective in Inazuma. While information surrounding his weapon, abilities, and which 5-Star banner he'll be featured on are unknown, his design and storyline already have players excited.
