Golden Guardians acquired Yuri "Keith" Jew in a trade with Cloud9 for Matthew "Deftly" Chen, the LCS franchise announced Wednesday.


Keith joins the Golden Guardians after spending two seasons on Cloud9. The League of Legends AD carry played for C9's LCS and Academy teams during his tenure.


Deftly, a member of GGS' first LCS roster after franchising, notably was a runner-up for Rookie of the Split honors in 2018. According to the team's announcement, Keith will spend the rest of the summer split on the Golden Guardians' Academy team laning with former Team Liquid support Joo-Sung "Olleh" Kim.


Golden Guardians currently sits tied for fifth in the summer split standings with OpTic Gaming holding a 6-6 record. The franchise qualified for its first LCS playoffs last split going out in the quarterfinals in a deciding Game 5 to FlyQuest.
