Golden Keys Borderlands 3: What Are They?

Golden Keys in Borderlands 3 are making an appearance alongside the return of Shift Codes from the previous installment, Borderlands 2. These keys are a great way to get some elite loot and bring your mayhem to the next level. There are various ways of getting Golden Keys and the process, itself, is pretty simple. Are you ready to get some fantastic gear for your favorite character?

Golden Keys Borderlands 3
Golden Keys can be obtained from redeeming Shift Codes, VIP Vault Insider codes, and from the special Game of the Year pre-order bonus for Borderlands 3. Shift Codes are the easiest and most commonly used of these as they are often tweeted out by Gearbox staff and can be redeemed at any time.
Getting the pre-order bonus should net you five keys already. There is currently one Shift Code containing three Golden Keys available for redemption: ZFKJ3-TT3BB-JTBJT-T3JJT-JWX9H. Shift Codes can be redeemed in-game through the menu, on the SHiFT website, or the Borderlands website.
Vault Insiders will also get exclusive rewards like Golden Keys and other exclusive in-game prizes.
These keys can then be used to unlock Golden Chests for rare weapons, skins, and other special loot you wouldn't be able to find as easily anywhere else. Golden Chests are one of the greatest opportunities you will have to get the best items in Borderlands 3.
