It is time to review the Green Bay Packer's Madden 21 theme team.
The Green Bay Packers have had a sensational 2020 NFL season led by their likely MVP, Aaron Rodgers. They secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC and are poised to make a solid run at the Super Bowl. We have done a variety of theme team reviews throughout the season, most recently we took a look at the Giants Theme Team.
Green Bay Packers Madden 21 Theme Team: Full Review
This team theme was created by the faithful MightyWings on MutHead. It is a 91 OVR Squad led by their 93 OVR defense and 90 OVR offense. It is worth noting before jump into it that players tend to receive juiced cards if their team makes a deep playoff run so look for some of these guys to get boosted if they make it to the Super Bowl.
The offense is led by none other than a 95 OVR Aaron Rodgers. The Wide Receivers on this team are fairly even with 93 Andre Johnson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Greg Jennings. But this is where a card boost will make a significant change for the theme team. Davante Adams is a cautious 92 OVR but with him being named the newest member of the Madden 21 99 Club, look to him to be receiving a new card in the coming weeks.
The Running Backs of this squad are 93 Aaron Jones and 93 Barry Sanders. The tight ends are pretty much a pick-your-poison with 92 Jimmy Graham, 90 Jermichael Finley, and 90 Jared Cook. Using TE Attack with these three beasts is near-certain to result in points.
Now at first glance, it is a little shocking that the defense would have a higher overall rating than the offense. But this defensive side of the football is insane. There are a record 12 defensive players with a 90 OVR or better, which is something we have never seen when conducting these theme team reviews.
It is hard to pick where to start, but let's go with the linebackers. The starters are 96 OVR Sam Mills, 95 Ted Hendricks, and 86 Preston Smith. What is scary is the back-up MLB and LOLB are 90 OVR Blake Martinez and 92 OVR Za'Darious Smith.
The secondary will cause all types of fits for opposing offenses. The cornerbacks are led by 96 OVR Charles Woodson, 91 Jaire Alexander, and 86 Kevin King. The FS is 92 OVR Micah Hyde and the SS are 92 Leroy Butler and 91 Adrian Amos.
Last, but most definitely not least, is the defensive line. A 95 OVR Julius Peppers, 92 Reggie White, and 91 Kenny Clark will make it seem like the offensive line is on roller-skates.
This team is flat-out solid from top to bottom and look for some of these guys to get better MUT cards as they make a playoff run.
