Rockstar Games is reportedly in the final stages of development for three remastered classic Grand Theft Auto titles scheduled to drop late October or early November, according to Kotaku.

Kotaku reported that the three remastered titles will include Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The remastered GTA trilogy digital package will be reportedly be releasing on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, Stadia and mobile phones, with the PC and mobile ports potentially being pushed to next year as Rockstar is prioritizing the console versions first.

The report from Kotaku also mentions that Rockstar Dundee—the Scotland-based studio obtained by Rockstar in October 2020—is "leading the charge" for the development of the GTA remastered trilogy, as well as helping to develop next-gen GTA V ports also coming this year. Rockstar Dundee, formerly known as Ruffian Games, is commonly known for developing Crackdown 2 and 3, and contributing work to Halo: Reach in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Kotaku also said that the three remastered titles are using the Unreal Engine, and that Rockstar Dundee is trying to stay true to the classic style of the games, despite their UI and graphics being updated here and there.

In addition to the never-ending interest in GTA VI throughout the gaming world, rumors regarding official remakes of GTA's earlier iterations had been heating up as Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has continued to DMCA strike community GTA mods and projects in recent weeks.

Lastly, Kotaku reported that Rockstar has plans to remaster some other classic titles in their portfolio, including Red Dead Redemption, but they will be evaluating the sales performance of the remastered GTA trilogy and next-gen GTA V ports before making a move.

For now, Rockstar Games has already officially announced a new 'Horde Survival' game mode for Red Dead Online, and their plans to shut down the GTA Online Servers for PS3 and Xbox 360 on Dec. 16, 2021.
