343 Industries' 2022 roadmap for Halo Infinite was released Friday, giving players a heads up on what they're planning to deliver during Season 2 and for the rest of the year.

For those interested in the direction of the game and perhaps heavily anticipating some more new content soon, here's a breakdown of the Halo Infinite 2022 roadmap.

Come May 3, Season 2: Lone Wolves is set to drop, bringing with it:

As shown by the list above, 343 appears to be delivering on its promise of releasing the long-awaited campaign co-op and Forge modes in Halo Infinite, albeit later than expected because of Season 1's extended run.

Season 2 is scheduled to end later than 343's initial seasonal trimester plan as well, with Season 3 starting on Nov. 8, 2022.

If everything goes as planned, Season 3 of Halo Infinite would include:

  • New 100-tier battle pass
  • New maps
  • New modes
  • New sandbox items
  • New narrative events
  • New Fracture event
  • Forge Open Beta
  • Quality of life improvements
  • Campaign split-screen co-op

Of course, it'll be interesting to see how the rumor of Certain Affinity working on a Halo Infinite battle royale mode factors into all of this as well.

Ultimately, the message from 343, both with this update as well as in past developer blogs, appears to be clear — the demand for more content and features is known, and the team is hoping to ramp up to meet those calls as soon as possible.

"This roadmap reflects the same studio priorities that we shared back in March," the 343 Industries blog post reads, "with a 'priority zero' of team health and getting ourselves into a sustainable development rhythm so that we can deliver great experiences to all of you while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

"We know we need to deliver more content and more features more quickly. Staying true to priority zero means that sometimes we need to slow down in order to stay healthy and move faster later. But we’re also aggressively looking at ways to accelerate."

For now, 343 emphasized that Halo Infinite players should continue to expect QoL improvements during seasons via Drop Pods, as well as more regular roadmap updates.
