Halo Infinite players will soon be able to earn credits for playing the game. 343 Industries will release the credit-earning system in Season 2's Battle Pass. Halo players will be able to use these credits in the in-game shop where skins and other exclusive content can be bought.

343's community manager, John Junyszek, posted an update announcing the new system that will be added to the game.

"Thanks to your continued feedback, we are happy to confirm Credits will be earnable in Season 2’s Battle Pass," Junyszek writes. "That means you will be able to earn Credits as part of your Halo Infinite progression. We’ll have more to share on this as we get closer to Season 2."

Halo Infinite's campaign was released on Dec. 8, 2021 with a free-to-play multiplayer portion that was released on Nov. 15, 2021. Players were frustrated that it was obvious which players had paid for the Battle Pass based on skins and cosmetics. Players with the free Battle Pass were given gray, tan and brown cosmetics, while paid Battle Pass owners were able to unlock colorful cosmetics.

Players had also been frustrated with the progression of Halo Infinite. Many players on Reddit thought that making progress in the game was too slow or confusing. The story seemed forced and was unenjoyable for a few Halo fans.

343 quickly responded to these complaints by planning to add the credit system and other updates in Season 2. Details on the quantity of credits, where they can be found and how they can be obtained has not been released yet. Junyszek did reveal in the post that more information would be released closer to Season 2's launch.

Halo Infinite Season 2 will be released sometime in May of 2022. The credit system will be added along with new in-game content. 343 is also finally supporting cooperative play in the Halo Infinite campaign, a staple for every Halo game prior to Infinite.
