Handful of Oats in WoW: Shadowlands could be the beginning of a beautiful new mount daily quest.

Veteran World of Warcraft players will remember the mare, Blanchy, from her multiple appearances throughout the world. Old Blanchy originally appeared in Westfall as part of a quest to provide oats for her. Later, players could find her in the Escape from Durnholde Keep as a young mare and again as an adult fighting alongside the Westfall Brigade. She was eventually killed by bandits in the Cataclysm expansion pack—which is how she ended up in the Shadowlands to begin with.

Now, she’s back, and can finally be the player’s new shady mount.

Much like how players collected oats for her in Westfall, they must do so again in Shadowlands as part of her daily quests. Don’t worry, though. Those who met her first should know where to get her favorite food—back in Westfall. Simply travel to the northern part of the region and look for Sacks of Oats to raid for handfuls.

Those looking to tame Blanchy will need eight Handfuls of Oats to begin the process. As these items are level 55, players will need to be at that level or higher to actually pick them up.

Blanchy appears in Revendreth and will start her predetermined run from the river near Endmire (63, 43). She’s much too fast to chase, so the only option is to trace her path and block her. Fortunately, she won’t run anyone over. Any player can come up and interact with her once she’s been stopped. She won’t be there forever, though, as she despawns after a few minutes or upon reaching the end of her run.

Items needed to tame Blanchy are:

  • Eight Handfuls of Oats
  • One Grooming Brush
  • Four Sturdy Horseshoes
  • One Bucket of Clean Water
  • One Comfortable Saddle Blanket
  • Three Dreadhollow Apples

Blanchy spawns every hour or so and players can only speak with her once per day. However, their progress won’t reset upon missing a day or two, so there isn’t much pressure to return every rollover.

Giving her all the items previously listed will reward the player with the Sinrunner Blanchy mount.
