One of the most popular, OP weapons in Fortnite Myths & Mortals just got a huge nerf in Fortnite update 29.10.

The gameplay in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is much more exciting and interesting than Fortnite Underground. Greek mythology-inspired Bosses inhabit four new tremendous POIs, each carrying an exclusive Society Medallion and Mythic weapon for players who manage to defeat them every match. Plus, Wings of Icarus offer a unique mobility option never before seen in Fortnite. Even weeks into the season, Epic Games continues to deliver in-game changes, including several weapon buffs and nerfs to the most popular guns in the game.

Here's Which OP Weapon Got Nerfed in Fortnite Update 29.10

The OP Sniper Rifle in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 got a huge spawn nerf in Fortnite update 29.10. The weapon will no longer drop as Uncommon (green) or Rare (blue), and instead will only be available as an Epic (purple) or Legendary (gold) weapon.

The developers also confirmed snipers will not spawn as frequently, so there will be significantly less snipers on the map each Battle Royale match.

Overall, the nerf is a huge win for the Fortnite Myths & Mortals meta, especially in Zero Build. Now, the likelihood of getting headshot sniped in Epic Games' Battle Royale just decreased massively, and endgames will hopefully move much faster.

Every Weapon Buff and Nerf in Fortnite Update 29.10

Here's every weapon buff and nerf in Fortnite update 29.10, per Epic Games:

  • Snipers don't drop as frequently, and no longer drop as Uncommon or Rare.
  • The Drum Gun's damage and fire rate is increased.
  • Huntress DMR's damage and projectile speed is increased.
  • Chain of Hades damage has been increased when pulling targets.
  • Frenzy Auto Shotgun's max effective range is lowered.

Beyond the spawn rate nerf to snipers, the biggest change in the current weapon meta is the buff to the Drum Gun. According to reliable Fortnite leaker, HYPEX, the weapon's fire rate was increased by 2.5%, and the Drum Gun now delivers the following damage:

  • Rare: 22
  • Epic: 23
  • Legendary: 24
  • Mythic: 25

To get a Mythic Drum Gun in Fortnite, head to The Marigold Yacht and purchase the weapon from Ascendant Midas for 600 Bars.
