Hex Hut Fortnite is a new cosmetic glider option to hit the Item Shop in time for Halloween.

Fortnite Halloween items are trickling into the Item Shop. Among the tricks and treats lies one suspiciously flighty looking glider with picket-fence wings, a mossy green roof, crooked steam pipe, great mechanical chicken legs. There's only one creature this home could belong to, of course. Fortunately for players, she comes as part of the bundle.

The Hex Hut is part of the Coven Fresh set that features the Slavic folklore witch, Baba Yaga. It is a nod to her home that has been said to stand on chicken legs and roam about. Apparently, in this version, the hut also comes with wings for even more mobility. The glider is current in the Item Shop for 1200 V-Bucks.

Other items include the Baba Yaga outfit and her back bling crow-in-a-cage, Auric, for another 1200 V-Bucks, and her Spell Sweeper broom harvesting tool for 800 V-Bucks. Together, the entire Coven Fresh set comes to 3200 V-Bucks.

Baba Yaga is a figure from Slavic folklore who appears as a haggard old woman—though she may be an individual of a trio. However, most practitioners will know that this is a common theme with female witches. Most describe her as close to our fairytale concept of a witch.

As an entity, she is extremely enigmatic, and her motives are often obscured due to the plethora of tales about her. Whether she is a villain or aide depends on the story being told—as she tends to play both roles. Curious parties should exercise caution when invoking her.

Tales of Baba Yaga, her flying broom, and her chicken-legged hut are most commonly told in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and other pockets within northwestern Europe. She is consistently associated with nature and maternal roles.
