Hogwarts Legacy will be the highlight of a newly announced PlayStation State of Play broadcast later this week.

The announcement was made earlier today, Monday, March 14, through a tweet published by the verified PlayStation account. According to a linked post from the official PlayStation blog, this will be the first "in-depth look at Hogwarts Legacy gameplay" directly from Avalanche Software, the developer behind the title.

"Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games are happy to partner with PlayStation to bring you a special edition of State of Play entirely dedicated to Hogwarts Legacy," wrote WB Games Avalanche Community Manager, Chandler Wood.

State of Play to Feature "Over 14 Minutes of Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay"

The State of Play will go live on Thursday, March 17, at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET) on both the verified PlayStation Twitch and YouTube accounts.

Wood mentioned that since its release, the game trailer has been viewed "over 28 million times" on the YouTube account, alone. With that much attention, it's no surprise that developers are eager to showcase their project. The entire broadcast will be 20-minutes long with 14 minutes exclusively dedicated to Hogwarts Legacy.

"We promised to share more this year, and we’re finally ready to deliver on that promise." He wrote, "We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on."

However, like the rest of the embattled franchise, Hogwarts Legacy has had its share of problems since its reveal. From series progenitor, J. K. Rowling, and her recent clashes with transgender activists to a previous senior producer with Avalanche Software allegedly resigning over backlash from running a "reactionary YouTube channel focused on attacking feminism and social justice" around this time last year, it's no surprise that some potential players are still on the fence.

This upcoming broadcast will be the longest clip of gameplay footage to be published since its announcement. Could it be what convinces some to pick up their wands once again?
