Looking for materials? Here's where to find squirrel bones in Horizon Forbidden West.
Horizon Forbidden West features a hefty crafting system. Certain components that you collect throughout your jouney can be used to upgrade weapons, outfits, and pouches. While the majority of the materials are torn off components from wild machines, some can be sourced from more natural beings.
When upgrading things such as your potions pouch, resource pouch, and more, you'll need to make use of certain animal components. One such animal is the squirrel which, if you want to upgrade a certain pouch, you'll need to locate.
Here's what you need to know.
Horizon Forbidden West: Where to Find Squirrel Bones
Squirrel Bones in Horizon Forbidden West can be found, unsurprisingly, on squirrels. The trick, however, is to find them. Fortunately, these creatures can be found fairly early on in the game.
Squirrels in Horizon Forbidden West are best found in forest-like areas, with larger frequencies of trees. Areas close to Riverhymn are a great place to look. Squirrels can be tough to see at first, owing to their ability to blend into the environment quite well. Though, by using your Focus, you should have an easier time spotting one. Be sure to check the ground to catch a glimpse of one scampering around.
When using the Focus, keep an eye out for small rodent-like shapes. Wildlife will often show up highlighted in yellow, with squirrels distinguished by their large tails. Approach them quietly and with your bow drawn, so as to take them down quickly. One shot should be all that is needed.
Once shot, the squirrel should drop some loot. The majority of the time this loot will be wild meat, however, before long one should drop a Squirrel Bone.
Horizon Forbidden West is out now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
