Houston Outlaws Purchased by Beasley Media Group

Beasley Media Group purchased the Houston Outlaws from Immortals Gaming Club on Thursday, ending the team's time in ownership purgatory and adding it to a portfolio that already includes an investment in Renegades.
Immortals Gaming Club obtained the Houston Outlaws in June, when it purchased team owner Infinite Esports & Entertainment. Overwatch League rules forbid owning two teams in the league simultaneously, prompting IGC — which already owns the Los Angeles Valiant — to sell the Outlaws.

The Outlaws spent much of Overwatch League Season 2 foundering as staff departed amid uncertainty about the franchise's future. The team ultimately finished the season at 16th out of 20, failing to make playoffs.
July saw IGC ink a $40 million deal with Houston real estate investor Lee Zieben, per an ESPN report. Zieben ultimately failed to raise the necessary funds to complete the transaction.
Beasley Media Group invested in Renegades earlier in 2019. The company also produces a weekly esports lifestyle show titled CheckpointXP. Its ownership company, Beasley Broadcast Group, also owns 47 FM radio stations and 18 AM radio stations in the U.S.
