As initially announced by Niantic on July 25, Daily Adventure Incense is a brand-new type of Incense being added to Pokémon GO to kick off the month of August. It appears to be part of Niantic’s new plan to get its players outdoors and moving, and, for once, is designed to help rural players just as much as those in cities. Here's a breakdown of everything you need to know about how Daily Adventure Incense works in Pokémon GO.

Daily Adventure Incense Pokémon GO: How to Use

Daily Adventure Incense is a new, special type of Incense in Pokémon GO that will attract unexpected wild Pokémon to you for 15 minutes as long as you are moving in the real world.

The Incense is automatically added to your Item Bag once daily at 12 a.m. local time.

You can only carry one Daily Adventure Incense in your Item Bag at a time. Additionally, since it must be completely used before midnight local time to receive the next day’s grant, be sure to use your Daily Adventure Incense before 11:44 p.m. local time to ensure you receive the next day’s Incense. Daily Adventure Incense is unavailable between 11:45 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. local time.

Daily Adventure Incense can be activated in the same way you would any other Incense.

First, locate Daily Adventure Incense in your Item Bag or tap the icon in the upper right of the in-game map* From there, swipe on Daily Adventure Incense to use it. A blue fog will surround your avatar while Daily Adventure Incense is active.

After use, Daily Adventure Incense will be removed from your Item Bag until the next day.

Once you activate your Incense, it will last 15 minutes, but will only attract Pokémon to you if you are moving in the real world.

If you have 30 or fewer total Poké Balls, Great Balls and Ultra Balls in your Item Bag when you activate your Daily Adventure Incense, you will also automatically be granted 30 Poké Balls. You will not receive this grant if you do not have any available Item Bag space.
