Fans of Grand Theft Auto are wondering how they can gain access to the latest but of content on the game’s online counterpart, Grand Theft Auto Online.
Rockstar Games’ pivot to online gaming has been rewarded in recent years with the uptick of popularity in both Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto’s online counterparts. Red Dead Online (RDO) and Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA Online) both have sizable player bases that have seen an uptick in popularity in recent years between the actual gameplay, seasonal events, and in-game shenanigans.
For GTA Online fans, the most exciting development comes in the form of a recent release: The Contract.
How Much is GTA Online: The Contract?
Believe it or not, GTA Online is free-to-play—meaning its content expansion, The Contract, is equally free. So long as players have access to it and the in-game funds to start and complete the quests, they should have no problem playing the entire content release.
Unlike its Wild West-inspired counterpart, RDO, however, fans do need to have purchased the latest installment in the series. In this case, it would be GTA 5. They don’t need to play the game—though it does help to grasp the controls and figure out the best way to go about navigating the world’s mechanics—nor do they need to complete anything special in the campaign.
Of course, in some cases, having owned and completed the game does reward online advantages.
GTA Online is available on Windows PC, Xbox One/Series S|X, and PlayStation 4/5.
