Diablo II: Resurrected finally arrived and as players dive back into this classic games are being stumped over how to add sockets to items. Sockets are arguably one of the most important features in Diablo II: Resurrected as adding them onto items allows players to add runes, which can lead to the creation of the game's most powerful items.

Before players can create these items they need to add the sockets, which is not as easy a task as it sounds. Here's how players can add sockets to items:

How to Add Sockets in Diablo II: Resurrected

There are two different ways to add sockets in Diablo II: Resurrected: through the Siege on Harrogath quest or by using Horadric Cube

The first way of adding sockets is through the completion of the Siege on Harrogath quest for Lazruk in Act V. This quest consists of trekking to the Bloody Foothills, locating and killing Shenk the Overseer, and finally returning to Lazruk. As a reward for completing his quest, Lazruk will offer to add sockets to one item for players.

The number of sockets he add varies depending on the item's rarity and level. For unique, rare, or set items, Lazruk will only add a single socket. He will add one or two sockets (at random) to any magic item of players choosing. Finally, for any white and gray items, Lazruk will add the maximum number of sockets which varies based on level of the chosen item.

The other way players can add sockets is by using Horadric Cube. In Act II, players will be sent on a quest to find and obtain the Cube. Once this quest is completed players will have the Cube in their possesion. Now they merely need to follow the recipes listed in the game and will be able to roll a random amount of sockets onto an item. It's important to note that the Cube only works on white or grey items though.

The Horadric Cube can even be used for extra inventory space!
