How to improve your aim in Apex Legends is always going to be at the forefront of peoples minds. In a battle royale style game such as this, it is incredibly important. And the answer, usually? Practice, practice, practice.

While yes, in the long-run practice is going to be what improves your aim and overall gaming skill, there are a few tips and tricks you can do to help your shooting ability in the short term.

So, if your technique is not quite pro-level yet (don't worry, practice will help with that), there are a few things you can focus on to better your aim:

1. Familiarise Yourself With Your Weapon

Look, if you don't know how to use the weapon you have, chances are you're not going to be able to fire it well. It will mostly come down to luck, not skill, if you find yourself facing opponents with an unfamiliar weapon in hand. Luckily, Apex has a Training Mode where you can practice using weapons and improve your aim.

2. Centre Your Screen

In the heat of the moment, this one can often slide. It happens. But keeping your sight focused, is crucial in a fight and can often be fixed with a simple movement of your mouse.

3. Recoil Patterns

Each weapon is different, all the way down to the recoil. To improve your aim, you need to compensate for the relevant recoil. Again, practice in the Training Mode can help with this but it does not simulate a real fight. If you're more concerned with improving your aim than winning, then dropping into hot zones can afford a more hands-on experience.

4. Strafing

Using an object as cover, and then strafing a target or opponents can really improve your aim. Being patient is important with this one as hitting something at a distance takes focus, and to hit it right - good aim.
