MLB The Show 21 players want to learn how to earn Stubs without necessarily shelling out hard cash.

"Stubs" are the special currency used in MLB The Show 21 to make online purchases from the in-game The Show Shop. They are commonly used to obtain The Show Packs to outright buy cards from other players via the Community Market. Other perks may be available as well, such as equipment, stadium quirks, and more.

How to Earn Stubs in MLB The Show 21

The most reliable way to earn Stubs is by completing special challenges within the game. For example, finishing off Collections or playing through all the Moments. These cost nothing but time and effort, allowing the player to spend even more time playing ball while completing their larger goals at the same time.

Additionally, competing and performing well in Programs will net players a fair amount of Stubs. Progressing through programs involves completing various tasks and missions. This also includes a daily mission which, while may not have a Stubs reward, could still be useful to the program and the player's progression as a whole.

Conquests can also be used to gain Stubs. As players progress through the "map," they'll earn a variety of rewards from experience points to The Show Packs and, rarely, decent amounts of Stubs. While they may be more time consuming, players generally consider them worth the work.

Those willing to spend a bit of Stubs can participate in Showdowns for 500 Stubs. There isn't a guaranteed payout, but does carry the possibility of 2100 Stubs upon success.

Finally, there's always the Community Market. Much like any economy, the Community Market within MLB The Show 21 fluctuates according to its members' desires at that moment. Stubs can be used to make purchases off the market—meaning they can be gained by selling through the market. This is by far the riskiest option, however.
