Here's how to evolve Budew into Roselia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Most Pokemon evolutions are fairly straightforward - take your Pokémon, level them up, watch them undergo an incredible transformation. An easy process that even my Grandma knows. Some Pokémon, though, like to break the mould. These creatures require a few extra steps before they grace you with a new form - one such Pokémon is Budew, the tiny rosebud grass and poison-type Pokémon.

Budew evolves into Roselia, a dual grass and poison-type Pokémon popular with those who like the "aesthetically pleasing" Pokémon. But evolving Budew isn't as simple as leveling it up.

Here's what you need to know.

How to Evolve Budew in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl

To evolve Budew into Roselia in both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll first need to raise its friendship level to two hearts. To check a Pokémon's friendship level, players can go to an NPC in Hearthome City who will evaluate the level of the first Pokémon in your party.

Alternatively, players can use the Friendship Checker app in the Pokétch once that has been obtained. You can get this from an NPC in the Eterna City Pokémon Center.

To increase a Pokémon's friendship, you can either take them for a walk around Amity Square, take them for a daily massage in Veilstone City, or get your hands on a Soothe Bell (an NPC maid in the Pokémon Mansion will give you one for free).

After increasing your Budew's friendship to two hearts, levelling it up during the daytime will prompt it to evolve into Roselia. Exposing Roselia to a Shiny Stone wil prompt it to evolve into its final evolution, Roserade.
