We've come up with a comprehensive guide to how trainers can evolve their Kirlia into a Gallade in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
With the release of Generation IV, Kirlia became the first Pokemon to showcase a completely different form based on its gender. In the Sinnoh region, trainers can evolve their male Kirlia into Gallade rather than Gardevoir using a special evolutionary item.
Here's how to evolve Kirlia into Gallade in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How to Evolve Kirlia into Gallade in Pokemon BD/SP
Gallade is an extremely rare sex-linked evolutionary form in that it has both a unique appearance and name. While it's no longer uncommon to see certain Pokemon display different secondary sex characteristics, they typically keep the same name. This is not so with Gallade.
Trainers can evolve their Kirlia into a Gallade by exposing it to a Dawn Stone so long as it's a male. Female Kirlia are not eligible to evolve into Gallade and will, instead, always evolve into Gardevoir at level 30. No level is needed for Gallade.
The Dawn Stone is a circular turquoise stone with a bright outer rim and starburst pattern branching out from the center. It can be found on Route 225 in the Battle Zone or inside Mt. Coronet. Fortunately, this means that trainer don't need to choose between evolving to get a Gallade or evoling to get a Froslass.
Gallade, also known as the "Blade" Pokemon, uses the edges extending from its elbows as swords. According to its PokeDex description, it is "a master of courtesy and swordsmanship." It supposedly only fights in self-defense or for the defense of others. Its PokeDex number is #475.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
