Porygon is one of those unique Pokemon that adds evolved forms by generation rather than having several within one. Its first evolution, Porygon2, was introduced in Generation II and could only evolve if traded while holding an Upgrade item. Now, with Generation IV, Porygon has the opportunity to evolve again.

How to Evolve Porygon2 into Porygon-Z in Pokemon BD/SP
Trainers can evolve Porygon2 into Porygon-Z via trading while the Pokemon is holding a Dubious Disc item. There is no level requirement for this evolution and Porygon2 can be traded at any time.
The Dubious Disc is a CD-ROM encased in a magenta and/or fuchsia plastic protector box. It can be found on Route 225 in the Battle Zone.
Porygon-Z is also known as the "Virtual" Pokemon—for obvious reasons. Throughout its PokeDex descriptions, several references are made to an "odd" error or its current software installation not working "as planned." This is likely meant to correspond to its rather strange and jumbled appearance. The reason for the new uploaded software varies from functioning as a better Pokemon to adding the ability to travel through alien dimensions. Its Pokdex number is #474.
Could Porygon-Z be "fixed" in the next generation or is it cursed to be prey to a strange uploaded virus forever? Perhaps this Pokemon isn't even malfunctioning at all.
