How to find drakes in Valheim is pretty simply considering they are one of the most common monsters you can encounter in the area. Traveling across Valheim can be dangerous due to the terrain alone, but add in a drake or two, and then you are in trouble.

So, where can you actually find drakes? Well, in Valheim they usually can be found in the Mountainous biome. Now, in this location you have to be careful of freezing temperatures and steep drops, but then facing up against a drake as well? That's when you have to be extra careful.

How to Find Drakes in Valheim

While drakes are not particularly large monsters, they do tend to gang up and with the decreased manoeuvrability of the mountains, their frost attacks can be lethal.

Usually you can hear them before you see them - the drakes' roar certainly will serve as ample warning, so keep an ear out. Given the lack of much space, drakes tend to favour ranged attacks, so make sure your inventory is properly stocked to respond in kind.

While drakes can certainly cast out out many frost attacks, it is possible to dodge or block them until you can defeat one. If you do manage to defeat a drake, you can often pick up freeze glands or even a drake trophy.
