Outriders' Internet Connection Error is playing new players who are eager to jump into the game.

Like any popular game, Outriders is suffering some connection issues with users early in its launch process. Longtime gamers know, for better or worse, that this issue is remarkably common in MMO settings. No matter how prepared studios appear to be, the sudden influx of traffic will always crash servers and cause problems.

Nevertheless, we've come up with a few things users can do to fix this.

How to Fix Outriders' Internet Connection Error

There is no absolute or confirmed way to fix this issue. Unfortunately, due to the massive amount of traffic the server needs to sort through, connect requests timing out or just not being answered is a common occurrence.

Those connecting through Steam, however, have a unique case, as the developers have come forward to explain there is a serious issue in communication between the code on PC and code on consoles. This is resulting in major crossplay issues and could cause gamers on either side of the divide to be kicked from the server entirely.

The first thing players should do is check the health of the servers. Square Enix devised a site exclusively for this purpose. Players may also want to check out the developer posted and maintained live "Known Issues" thread on the Outriders' subreddit board for more information.

Next, they should begin to go down the ladder of restarts, beginning with the program. Exit out of and restart Outriders first, then move on to the device's connection drivers. If these aren't the issue, players are encouraged to try restarting their own device to eventually move on to restarting their internet connection entirely via the router. Players can also reach out to their Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see if there's an outage of any kind in their area.

Unfortunately, this may not fix the issue, as its primary source is with the actual game servers rather than individual players. It may help to try logging on during off-peak hours, if possible. Otherwise, it's all in Square Enix's hands.
