Pokemon GO's Adventure Sync function is one of the most useful and equally most utilized tools in the game. However, like all well-loved tools, it doesn't always work as intended. Here's what to do when the game just can't quite get it right.

How to Fix Pokemon GO Adventure Sync

There are a few ways to check-up on Niantic's Adventure Sync.

The first method to employ should be to check with Niantic Labs, itself, and make sure the service is still running on their end. Fortunately, this is rather easy using their NianticHelp Twitter account.

From there, troubleshooting on the trainer side can begin. It's not uncommon for issues with Adventure Sync to crop up from time to time. This means, in turn, that there are several avenues to fix it.

Fixing Adventure Sync in Pokemon GO

While it may seem silly, trainers should check to make sure their Adventure Sync is actually turned on. This can be done by navigating to the game's settings tapping the main menu and then gear icon in the top right list. The box beside the feature should be checked--if not, trainers should check it now.

Fixing Adventure Sync via Device Settings

Next, assuming that wasn't the problem, trainers will need to go into their device's settings and manually allow the game access to its built-in location services. This process differs from Android to iOS, but the gist of it is to go through the device's menus--rather than those in-game--to find the settings specific to Pokemon GO and make sure it has been granted access to the trainer's location information.

It should be noted that for the feature to work as intended, trainers will need to always allow the app to track their progress whether they have it open or not.

In regards to Apple Health or Google Fit services, the same logic applies. iOS trainers will need to make sure Pokemon GO is listed as a connected "Source." Meanwhile, Android trainers will have to ensure Pokemon GO is a connected application.

Other Adventure Sync Fixes

Some trainers reported issues having a different e-mail address associated with their device than the one previously linked to their Pokemon GO account. However, this appears to have been resolved.
