After Fortnite's latest update, fans can now get a Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG to help navigate the beloved Chapter 1 map.
Just one week after the launch of Fortnite OG, Epic Games released their first of several weekly changes to keep the throwback season exciting. Not only is Loot Lake a floating island, but the loot pool underwent some major changes, including the addition of Grapple Gloves. Finding the mobility item might just be the easiest way to ensure a Victory Royale in Zero Build.
Here's how to get Grapple Gloves in Fortnite OG.
How to Get Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG
To get a Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG, players must find one in a Supply Drop or through a Rift Encounter. There are no Grapple Gloves in Chests or floor lot.
Rift Encounters are random events throughout a match that spawn characters and loot on the map. They are impossible to predict, so players must be lucky to come across a Rift Encounter and retrieve a Grapple Glove.
Supply Drops, on the other hand, are much more common. Keep an eye on your minimap for the blue icon to appear in the later stages of a match. Then, simply go to the location, open the drop, and see if your efforts are rewarded with a Grapple Glove.
According to statistics provided by X user, FNAssist, Grapple Gloves have the following spawn rates:
- Supply Drops: 40%
- Rift Encounters: 100%
When Do Grapple Gloves Leave Fortnite OG?
Grapple Gloves will likely leave Fortnite OG on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023. Each Fortnite update in November only lasts one week, so we assume the mobility item will leave once Chapters 7 and 8 take over the map.
There is a possibility, though, that Epic Games keeps Grapple Gloves in the game for the remainder of Fortnite OG. Although they do not fit the throwback theme, they are extremely helpful when navigating Zero Build. The Chapter 1 maps might be iconic, but they were not exactly designed for the new fan-favorite mode. The extra mobility item improves rotations and speeds up the pace of matches.
