How to get Iron Nuggets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
By Jack O'Dwyer
Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have found out how to get iron nuggets in large amounts.
By now, fans of Nintendo's latest Animal Crossing release, New Horizons, already know they need a plethora of materials and resources to keep their island running. These are crucial at the beginning of the game as the player is responsible for building most of the larger structures on the island. As time goes on, these materials are used in crafting or to reinforce important tools to increase their longevity. Unfortunately, this is a lot easier said than done. Most naturally occurring sources of resources have a finite item cap they can give off per day.
So, what's the best way to get iron nuggets?

The primary way to get iron nuggets is by hitting the rocks on the island with a stone shovel. Rocks can be hit around nine times in rapid succession before they stop giving out resources. There are six rocks on the island at the start of any given day with one being the "money rock" that only produces bells. In addition to simply striking it, players can also destroy rocks to potentially get an extra item. Be advised, however, that rocks will also give off stone and clay at random so there's no guarantee to get an iron nugget with every hit.
This can also be done on any Nook Miles islands for an extra chance at resources. Aside from this, there is no way to directly purchase iron nuggets.
Some gift boxes floating through the sky may contain iron nuggets and villagers may gift them when spoken to. It may also be worthwhile to reach out to friends and family to see if they have any extras lying around.
