The Grothdarr set is part of the Monster Helm Sets in The Elder Scrolls Online. Here's what you need to know in order to get hold of it.

The Grothdarr set is a two-piece set, part of One Tamriel. It joins the game as part of the Monster Helm Sets, comprised of a helmet and shoulder piece. Like all pieces of the Monster Hunter set, the Grothdarr armor is random in both its armor type (Light/Medium/Heavy) as well as its trait (Reinforced, Infused, Divines etc.) in order to get what you need, it's likely you'll have to do some farming.

The bonuses for the Grothdarr set are as follows:

  • (1 item) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
  • (2 items) When you deal damage to an enemy within 8 meters, you have a 10% chance to create lava pools that swirl around you, dealing 259 Flame Damage to all enemies within 8 meters of you every 1 second for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.

So, how can you get your hands on these particular set pieces?

The Shoulder can be acquired by using an Undaunted key on Gilirion the Redbeard's chest. The Shoulder type, weight and trait are based on random number generations (RNG) and can be from any dungeon this NPC gives Pledges for. It's worth noting, the Shoulder isn't guaranteed to drop so it might take a few tries.

To get the Helm, players will need to go to the Vaults of Madness which is part of the base game and located in Coldharbour. The Helm is guaranteed to drop from the final boss in Veteran mode only. The weight and trait are also RNG based.

And that's all there is to it. Like we previously mentioned, the armor type will be at random so if you're after a specific version of the set it might take some grinding.
