Knowing how to mute players in Halo Infinite could make your games a lot calmer. Here's what you need to know.

Anti-social gamers unite! While match communication can be a useful tool, sometimes it has some undesirable consequences. Be it toxic players, annoying background noise, or just poor mic quality, many of us don't have the time or energy to be dealing with voice chat. Luckily, 343 Industries has made muting players rather simple in Halo Infinite. Here's what you need to know.

How to Mute Players in Halo Infinite

First, if you don't want to deal with voice chat at all you can mute everyone before the match even starts. To do this, go to the Settings menu (F1 on PC, or the Options button on controller) and head to the audio tab. Under "Communications" you'll see the voice options. Open the drop-down menu and click "disable" to mute everyone from the get-go.

If you're fine with a bit of voice chat but find a few people getting a little rowdy as the match goes on, you'll want to mute them individually. The way to do this differs depending on whether you're playing on PC or Xbox.

To mute players on PC:

  • Press the "Escape" key
  • Press "Tab"
  • Choose who you want to mute
  • Select "mute"

To mute players on Xbox:

  • Press the "Start" button
  • Press the "View" button
  • Choose who you want to mute
  • Select "mute"

It's as easy as that. Each player who you mute will remain muted until you either unmute them or the match ends. Don't be shy about using it either - we can all do with a bit of quiet time.
