You can watch a quick video on how to stop the train on Reddit, but it's not complicated. Head to the front train car and you'll see a computer screen and you'll see a prompt to stop the train. This is important for players that win the train and the initial stop, and need time to loot the area and heal up before the train takes off.
For plenty of players, you'll be caught looting as the train takes off. This way, players control when they want to take off and move on to the next area.
