IEM Chicago 2019 is the next stop on the Intel Extreme Masters Season XIV following IEM Sydney in April.


IEM Chicago, taking place at the United Center, marks the second iteration of the event after its predecessor replaced Oakland last year. Also, it's assumed the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament will serve as the first event in Intel Grand Slam Season 3 following Team Liquid's win at ESL One Cologne.

IEM Chicago 2019: Everything You Need to Know


IEM Chicago takes place July 18-21. Eight teams will be in attendance as they fight for their share of the $250,000 prize pool. Here are the eight teams confirmed for the event:


  • Team Liquid (North American Invite)
  • MIBR (North American Invite)
  • Renegades (North American Invite)
  • ENCE (European Invite)
  • G2 Esports (European Invite)
  • Team Vitality (European Invite)
  • Team Envy (North American Qualifier)
  • ForZe (GG.Bet Invitational Qualifier)


Groups have yet to be determined for the event, but the structure will follow a four-team double-elimination best-of-three group stage with four teams (two from each group) advancing to the playoffs. Only the grand final will be a best-of-five series.
