The remaster of fan-favorite RTS Age of Empires II, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, is coming soon to Xbox. Here's what you need to know about its availability on Xbox's Game Pass service.

The original Age of Empires II was released in 1999 and is considered a classic RTS game. The historical RTS sits alongside Starcraft as one of the hallmarks of the genre, and has spawned decades of memes. Most famously, the "wololo" sound effect of the priest unit that reverses the allegiances of allied troops.

Is Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Coming to Xbox Game Pass?

According to the game's FAQ, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will be on Xbox Game Pass. An Xbox Game Pass Console subscription is required to access the game's online multiplayer features. PC Game Pass does not cover the console edition of the game, so console players will need a separate subscription.

PC Players will get access to the game and its DLCs on console for free.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition revamps the original game with graphical improvements, quality-of-life features and new content including new civilizations to play as.
