Is Destiny 2 Cross Platform? Well, Kind of

Is Destiny 2 cross platform is a question many have asked since Cross Save was enabled in August.

Destiny 2 is an MMO first-person shooter developed by Bungie. Originally released in 2017, the game has received multiple expansions. The newest expansion, Shadowkeep, releases Oct. 1. The game will also launch on Google Stadia, meaning it'll be available on four platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The game is also moving to Steam from Battle.net after ending its partnership with Activision Blizzard. But is the game cross platform? Here's everything you need to know.

Is Destiny 2 Cross Platform?

Destiny 2 isn't necessarily cross platform, but there is the Cross Save feature.

Cross Save lets players carry progression from one account to multiple platforms. If you started playing Destiny 2 on Xbox One but your friends are on PC, you can link your account so you can carry everything over to a new platform.

The best part is you don't lose any progression on other platforms. If you unlock an Exotic on PC but your friends want to run a raid on console, you'll still have everything. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean you can play on PS4 and party up with PC players.

Bungie said, "Cross Save won't let you engage players on other platforms in real time. The idea is that you can move from one platform to another and play with the same Guardians."

Cross platform play might be included down the line, but as of now Cross Save is the closet to multiple platform play.
