The latest Far Cry instalment, Far Cry 6, is on the way - but will it be coming to Xbox Game Pass?

The highly-anticipated Far Cry 6 throws players into the island of Yara, a place in the middle of a revolution and ruled by dictator Antón Castillo. The game promises to be Far Cry's biggest playground to date, and features many of the mechanics from previous instalments optimized for modern generation consoles.

The game is scheduled for release on Oct. 7 but many fans are wondering if Far Cry 6 will be a day one release for Xbox Game Pass.

Is Far Cry 6 Coming to Xbox Game Pass?

As it stands, Far Cry 6 will not be coming to Xbox Game Pass. At least not immediately. The decision seems to be that Far Cry 6 will be available via Ubisoft's own subscription service, Ubisoft+, rather than launching directly onto Xbox Game Pass.

It's rumoured that Microsoft might merge Ubisoft+ with Xbox Game Pass, similar to the way EA Play works with the service. Should this happen, subscribers to Game Pass can likely anticipate a whole host of Ubisoft titles migrating to the service. Until then, it seems that players will have to subscribe to Ubisoft+ in order to play some of their flagship titles.

Far Cry 6 will release on Oct. 7, 2021 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X| S, Google Stadia, and PC.
