FIFA 19, the latest iteration of Electronic Arts Sports' hit soccer franchise, released last September for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on the Origin store.

It sports the flagship Ultimate Team mode, local multiplayer, Pro Clubs and more. But can you play with your friends on PlayStation 4 if you're playing on Xbox One.

As of writing, FIFA 19 is not cross platform. Years from now, the answer will remain the same. Probably for future entries in EA Sports' FIFA as well.

Cross platform is a scarce feature to come by in the modern gaming landscape as gamers know it. Only a handful of titles have cross platform capability, namely Fortnite and Rocket League.

Fans must continue to play against friends online or regular matchmaking on the same platform.
