During their most recent PlayStation Showcase, Sony confirmed that a Knights of the Old Republic remake is under development. The game is being made by Aspyr who has an impressive list of previous Star Wars games under their belt. The new Knights of the Old Republic is meant to modernize the game to bring in new players while keeping what dedicated fans loved about the original intact.

Sony has confirmed through the PlayStation Blog that the game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch. An Xbox release hasn't been confirmed, but the specific wording of the game's initial release implies that there is a good chance that an Xbox version of Knights of the Old Republic is in the works. Typically when Sony releases a title as a timed exclusive, it will remain solely on the PlayStation for anywhere between six to 12 months. After such a window of time has passed, the Knights of the Old Republic remake may become available on Xbox.
