Players are trying to figure out what's going on regarding previous leaks that Naruto was coming to Fortnite.

Speculation about a possible cameo from popular Shonen ninja, Naruto, was sparked by the same batch of leaks originally gleaned via documents published during the Epic Games vs. Apple Inc. lawsuit. Naruto was mentioned alongside Ariana Grande and Lebron James—both of which had enjoyed their own time on Fortnite Island.

So, when will players get to see Naruto?

Is Naruto Coming to Fortnite?

Yes, it seems Naruto is coming to Fortnite—we just aren't sure exactly when. Sources indicate that it won't be during Season 7, however. After all, we only have a few short weeks left.

According to credible informant @ShiinaBR, Naruto will be included in the "next battle pass." They explained that Epic was officially able to secure a deal with the Japanese publisher, Shueisha, the franchise rights holder on July 31. Supposedly, they were able to obtain the rights to the character—though we aren't entirely sure whether that extends to others in the series or not.

Season 8 will also allegedly feature a unique kunai weapon—the short, pointed tool often associated with Japanese masonry.

The leak only mentioned Naruto, by name. Additionally, other now-published content and cosmetics from the documents have been focused on single characters. While we won't ignore the possibility of other fan-favorite characters making an appearance, it's more plausible that players will see different style variants of Naruto, instead.

Season 8, containing the next Battle Pass, will kick off in mid-September. on Sept. 18.
