Is the Heavy Shotgun Back in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1?

Is the fan-favorite Heavy Shotgun back in Fortnite? Here's what you need to know.

Part of Fortnite's charm is its ever-changing rotation of weapons and items to use on the quest for the Victory Royale. With the start of Chapter 4 Season 1, there's been plenty of new weapons enter the pool, including the Ex-Caliber Rifle and the Thunder Shotgun.

But Epic Games has already mentioned that players will see some returning weapons over the course of the season, and while Winterfest has already dropped in the Snowball Launcher, some more traditional weaponry could be making a comeback.

Heavy Shotgun Unvaulted in Fortnite

The Heavy Shotgun has been added back into Fortnite as of yesterday, Dec. 27, 2022. The weapon made its return as part of a small content update.

The Heavy Shotgun's in-game description reads, "Exceptionally reliable and consistent, break out the Heavy Shotgun to fire a single slug over longer-range. Perfect for closing the gap or responding to an incoming threat!"

The Heavy Shotgun joins the island's weapon pool alongside the Thunder Shotgun and Maven Auto Shotgun. Players will have plenty of opportunities to deal some heavy damage.
