We’ve answered the question of whether or not Overwatch will be hosting an Thanksgiving event this year.

With the holiday season finally kicking off, some players have started to wonder if Overwatch will feature a Thanksgiving event. In the past, the game has included several winter holidays with unique rewards and challenges. For some, that season kicks off with the harvest’s end feast holiday, Thanksgiving, leading some to wonder if Overwatch will have anything planned for the day.

Here’s what we know about Thanksgiving in Overwatch.

Overwatch Thanksgiving Event 2021

No, there is no Thanksgiving event planned for Overwatch in 2021.

The primary reason for this is the fact that Thanksgiving is a regional and/or national in the United States of America. It isn’t recognized worldwide, though does has counterparts in other countries such as Australia, Brazil, Grenada, the Netherlands, and the Philippines.

However, even among these counterparts, there are distinct differences in traditions, dates, and sentiment behind the holiday. For example, in Grenada, Thanksgiving is celebrated on Oct. 25 as the anniversary of the US invasion of the island in 1983.

The next Overwatch holiday will be its Winter Wonderland event that typically kicks off in early to mid-December. It tends to run through to January and encompasses the majority of popular holidays within that season.

Unfortunately, DBLTAP cannot confirm when the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 will begin. No information around the release has been revealed at the time of writing. We recommend players keep their eyes on official channels as well as their trusted news sources for updates.
