Is World's Edge Returning to Apex Legends?
By Jack O'Dwyer
Will Apex Legends players ever see the return of the fan-favorite World's Edge map?
Apex Legends fans are feeling homesick after the loss of World's Edge. This landmark location was originally introduced at the start of Season 3 in September 2019. Since then, it has only been removed once, in November 2020, to receive a few important alterations in reflection of the story.
Is World's Edge Returning to Apex Legends?
Unfortunately, there isn't any information regarding the return of World's Edge.
The map was pulled from circulation by Respawn following a patch on Feb. 2. The company told players that World's Edge was "taking a break" from ranked play and that it would return in future seasons. Just how much later, however, was not revealed, nor was the reason for the map's removal.
This also means that those gearing up for their first Apex Legends experience on the Nintendo Switch on Mar. 9 will have to do so without the iconic landscape to play on.
World's Edge will likely return some time after Season 9—though, exactly when is unclear.
This isn't the first time Respawn has removed a map only to add it in with new content later on. Kings Canyon suffered a similar fate and was returned to players sporting some interesting additions. Some are speculating this may be the case for World's Edge.
Obviously, if true, we can't wait to see what the map has in store upon its revival.
