League of Legends Champion Rework 2022 Roadmap
By Yunah Elsner

League of Legends has announced a champion rework roadmap for 2022 which includes visual rework updates for two champions this year. First, Riot Games will be giving Ahri an ASU like they had done for Caitlyn this year. Ahri is one of League of Legend's older champions who is in need of a visual update and modernization.
The other champion who will be receiving a huge VGU is Udyr, who was voted last year to receive this update. Once again, Riot has set up a poll where players can vote on which champion should be updated. This year, the five champions are Shyvana, Nocturne, Skarner, Tryndamere and Kog'Maw. After polling is finished, the champion with the most votes will receive a visual update in 2023.

For now, League of Legends players can keep their eyes peeled for the Udyr VGU, which will be released this year, and the ASU for Ahri. Although some of these reworks are purely visual, it's important to update and modernize visuals as this could affect gameplay. Sharpening VFX, developing smoother ability visuals and making sure champions are kept up to date can help balance champions in the game.

The Ahri and Udyr reworks were the only champions mentioned in the Season 2022 livestream, but it has been rumored that a few other champions may be seeing a few updates. A few players believe that Jax, Aurelion Sol and Janna will also be receiving a few small, minor reworks this year.
In the Season 2022 livestream, Riot also mentioned that new skins for champions such as Gangplank, Rek'Sai, Fiddlesticks, Rell, Orianna and Heimerdinger were going to be released this year. Riot seems to have their work cut out for them as they continue to add new features to the game while reworking and updating older champions in order to keep them up to date with the new meta.
