League of Legends Fiddlesticks counters are some of the most popular champions in the game after the rework went live.

With the new and improved Fiddlesticks now live on League of Legends Patch 10.7, here are the five counters to the League of Legends Fiddlesticks rework.

Fiddlesticks is a powerful champion in League of Legends that relies heavily on surprising enemies with Crowstorm (R) to be effective. Without the element of surprise, he cannot get the fear that comes from the passive on Terrify (Q) and cannot maximize his damage output or combine it well with the abilities of the other champions on his team. So the best counters to the new Fiddlesticks all have one thing in common, they can shut down his initial engage and buy their team enough time to regroup.

League of Legends Fiddlesticks Counters: 5 Counters to the Rework

1. Malzahar

Malzahar's Void Shift (Passive) grants him immunity to crowd control and a massive damage reduction when he has not been recently damaged by an enemy spell. This means that Fiddlestick's first tick of Crowstorm damage will not activate the Terrify passive and fear Malzahar.

Malzahar can then respond with Malefic Visions (E), Nether Grasp (R), and Call of the Void (Q) to lock down Fiddlesticks before he can use Zhonya's Hourglass to become immune to incoming damage. This basically kills Fiddlesticks before his team can follow up on his engage and gives Malzahar's team the chance to win the ensuing 4-vs-5 team-fight.

2. Heimerdinger

Unlike Malzahar, Heimerdinger does not have a passive or ability that denies Fiddlestick's engage, but he does have the ability to still damage Fiddlesticks while feared. If Heimerdinger places his H-28 G Evolution Turrets (Q) properly, he can subject Fiddlesticks to well over 300 damage per second during his engage and chunk him down passively.

If Heimerdinger has built Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Liandry's Torment, he can also punish the follow up from Fiddlestick's teammates and decimate their health bars. If Fiddlesticks is slow to use stopwatch, Heimerdinger can use CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade (E) to stun him and Hextech Micro-Rockets (W) to secure an early kills for his team in the fight.

3. Galio

While Heimerdinger and Malzahar can attempt to dissuade a team fight by punishing Fiddlesticks and his team for trying to engage, Galio possess a kit that can protect his team while getting them out of a well timed Fiddlesticks engage.

If Galio is split pushing, or rotating over to an objective, he can use Hero's Entrance (R) to grant his magic damage shield from Shield of Durand (W) to his allies, lightening the blow of Fiddlestick's Crowstorm and Bountiful Harvest (W). Galio can then use the taunt from Shield of Durand (W) to stop the enemy team from chaining their crowd control together and then use Justice Punch (E) to escape to safety.

4. Gangplank

Not a lot champions have a built in Quicksilver Sash or Cleanse, but fortunately for Gangplank, he has both with Remove Scurvy (W). When Fiddlesticks engages, Gangplank can use Remove Scurvy to remove the terrify and then fire back with Cannon Barrage (R) to slow the advance of the enemy team and do damage before the fight really gets under way.

Gankplank can also immediately inflict massive damage on Fiddlestick with either a previously set up Powder Keg (E) combination or a Parrrley (Q). This also gives his team the opportunity to respond and lessens the chance that his carries will get killed early on in the fight by increasing the effective space between the two teams.

5. Zhonya's Hourglass/Quicksilver Sash/Banshee's Veil

No matter what champion you play, there are quite a few items that work well into Fiddlesticks and prevent his surprising and creative engages from eliminating your entire team in one go. Banshee's Veil is a great item for AP champions that can properly use both its magic resist and item passive. Mostly, it can be viable item for AP mid laners, top laners, or junglers in select circumstances. Champions that can't go Banshee's Veil well can also itemize into Zhonya's Hourglass, even though it's active is more difficult to time properly then the passive shield gaining from Banshee's Veil.

AD carries, AD top laners, and some AD junglers can effectively itemize Quicksilver Sash, which gives the often squishiest members of the team a chance to create space between themselves and the enemy in order to be effective in the ensuing fight.
