League of Legends Mecha Kingdom was introduced in Patch 9.24. The latest patch hit Summoners Rift Wednesday, bringing with it a host of new changes including the 2019 Dawn and Dusk event, and the versatile new marksman Aphelios. But along with all new things arriving, came a trailer for something BIG on its way, the Mecha Kingdoms skin line. Read on to learn what we could expect.

League of Legends Mecha Kingdoms Universe

Some of the best collections of skins in League of Legends have a deep and interesting backstory associated with them, recasting recognizable characters in a new light, or reinventing them in creative ways. Even otherwise boring champions like Malphite can be made interesting with the right skin. Mecha Kingdoms promises to be no exception, looking at first glance to be a blend of Southeast Asian cultural imagery and the giant robotic constructs typical of the mecha genre.

The trailer for the skins features the description, "We must rise above the past if we wish to have a future." Based on this and the imagery presented in the trailer, we can make a few assumptions. First, Mecha Kingdoms will launch very early next year with skins for five champions. Jax appears to be the flagship (flag-mech?) champion for this release, but other than a confirmation on Reddit that Aurelion Sol won't be attending the party, it is anyone's guess on who could show up.

Who do you hope to see get a Mecha Kingdoms skin? Be on the look out for more news around which champions will get one, and mark Jan. 15, 2020 on your calendars to prepare for their release.
